Tamela L. Southan began her association with the DAHU Board when working for Foster Benefit Resources in 1991. DAHU founder (Stan Foster) required all sales persons to join and serve on the DAHU Board. Working on and for the DAHU Board has been a part of Tamela’s professional career and personal life; and it’s a journey she’s not ready to end! Tamela opened her own insurance agency in 2007, as a managing member of Benefit Solutions by Design, LLC, based in Richardson, TX. She’s adapting to the ever-changing insurance industry, while building relationships focused on a consultative approach. She works with Individuals, Medicare, and Group clients. Tamela has served as DAHU Past President, TAHU and DAHU Legislative Chairs, and VAHU Local and State Board Chairs. She has been a long-standing member of NAHU since 1991. Tamela holds her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from UTD in Richardson. She is currently serving our DAHU Board as an active Trustee, and Co- Chair for Membership / Retention.
