After serving 9 years in the US Army, completing 2 years in Vietnam, Steve started in the insurance business with New York Life in Tacoma, WA in 1978. Desiring to specialize in Group Medical Insurance, Steve became an independent broker in 1980. The Employee Leasing Business or PEO/Professional Employer Organization, as it is now called caught his attention and moved to Texas in 1988, where he successfully grew a PEO from 9 clients and a thousand employees to a major player in the industry. The owners sold the PEO, so Steve became an owner in American Staff Resources, which again was small, but in 3 years, became the 2nd largest, privately owned PEO operating in Texas. Once again, the PEO was sold, and Steve returned to the Group Insurance Business and continues to serve his clients both as a PEO Broker and Insurance Broker. Steve also works with other agents and brokers often bringing in new ideas & products drawing from his unique understanding of insurance and PEO's.
