19th Annual DAHU Golf Tournament
Benefiting Jonathan’s Place
The date is set for the 19th annual DAHU Golf Tournament. It is confirmed for Thursday, September 8th at The Tribute Golf Club. This will be the second consecutive year we have held the tournament at The Tribute. This facility is exceptional for our type of event and this year we are expecting a memorable outing for all. The Tribute is consistently voted one of the top public facilities in Texas and one of the best places to host a tournament. For more information on the course, and to start plotting your strategy, visit their website at www.thetributegolflinks.com.

If the thought of playing a great course with some great folks doesn’t get you fired up, how about the idea of improving the lives of children in the community? You know that much of the tournaments proceeds go to charity, don’t you? This year our tournament again benefits Jonathan’s Place. Jonathan’s Place is a licensed emergency shelter providing temporary transitional living services for abused, neglected, abandoned and drug-affected children. The facility was created and is operated by the Kid Net Foundation, a non profit organization founded in 1991 by Dallas resident Lisa Matthews and Phil Matteis to provide specialized services and housing to at-risk children in Dallas County and throughout the state. If you want to find out more about this wonderful organization please visit www.kidnet.org.

This years tournament will feature prizes for the lowest gross score as well as low net so those of you who want to load up with “A” players will have a chance to win straight up! But if that’s the only reason you want to play, you need to visit the aforementioned website www.kidnet.org. Therein lies the reason to play.

If you have questions about the tournament or would like to volunteer your assistance, please contact me. 972-385-3710 ext. 116 / john.mosier@compbenefits.com.

June, 2005

I would like to invite and encourage association members to participate in the 2005 Komen Plano Race for the Cure on Saturday June 4th at 8 AM. As you know these events, held throughout the country, raise funds for the fight against breast cancer. Last years proceeds from the race were awarded to nine, local non-profit agencies serving the needs of medically underserved women in North Texas.

DAHU is forming a team to participate in this very worthwhile and fun event. The cost is only $18 per person. Participants will receive a tee shirt as well as admission to the race venue the morning of Saturday June 4th. The location is EDS/The Shops at Legacy in Plano. Please do not be deterred by the term “race.” We will be participating in the fun walk!

Sign up with you friends or family and spend a fun morning with them. The atmosphere at this event is both emotional and festive. Many vendor/sponsors will be there with giveaways and such. For those of us who
do open enrollment meetings, we know the power of the giveaway! This is your chance to be on the receiving end!

Great strides have been made in the fight against breast cancer and this charity has done much to further that progress. Will your participation, donation or involvement help to save a life? It just might.

Please contact me for more information on this event. All you need to do is complete an application (which I will promptly fax to you) and promise a check for $18.00 or provide credit card information. The deadline in
near!

DAHU members participated in the 2nd annual Code Red Caper benefitting Bryan's House, Sunday May 1, 2005. The new fundraising event was as much about fun as it was about funds. We are pleased to have contiributed $1,000 to the cause.

Special thanks to Larry French and Bob Sax for contributing a special amount in order to secure a seat in our Inspector Gadget Limousine and congratulations to Reed Schnittker and Lori Bigson for being the lucky winners of our drawing for another 2 seats.

Members of your Board of Directors who were be part of the DAHU Team of Sleuths included RoseMary Deininger, Carolyn Goodwin, Donna McCright and Jacqueline St. Hilaire.

Once the results are in, we'll let you know just how divining DAHU members can be as we attempted to solve the mysteries that surely confounded us.
