Tamela Southan has been a long standing member of National Association of Health Underwriters having participated with DAHU and VAHU since 1991. With her relocation back to Dallas, Tamela took the big step starting her own independent insurance agency, Benefit Solutions by Design in January 2008.
As a consumer and insurance professional my goal is to provide my clients, associates and consumers with a solid knowledge and understanding of the benefits designed to best suit their specific needs now and into the future. Peace of Mind is the cornerstone to one’s security and satisfaction when it comes to healthcare solutions.
With her great experience and enthusiasm she has served in various board positions always focusing her passions around legislative issues. While working in Washington, DC and here locally, she works to keep the key aspects that impact our free market system actively engaged.

Mike has been with UniCare in Texas since their acquisition of Mass Mutual in 1996. He has over 19 years of experience in the Insurance Industry. He currently manages both Sales & Account Management for the North Texas & Oklahoma territories.
In 2007, Mike was appointed to the Dallas Association of Health Underwriters Board of Directors as the Strategic Membership Chair.
He is a graduate of Niagara University and received his CPA designation while working in Public Accounting. He is married with 3 children.

Jacqueline has worked in the managed dental care industry for the last 14 years. In her current position as a Senior Account Executive with SafeGuard Dental and Vision she is responsible for developing relationships with insurance agents and employer groups in north and central Texas. Jacqueline has been a member of various Health Underwriter locals for over 10 years but only recently decided that it was time to get more involved. She served as the DAHU Grip/State Legislation Chair for nearly 2 years and recently moved into the Federal Legislation Chair. She is also the Director of Legislative Activities for the TAHU Legislative Council. Just recently Jacqueline completed the requirements for her GBA designation and is planning to pursue the CEBS designation.

Jacqueline (Jackie) Kim received her Bachelors of Science degree in Communications Studies from The University of Texas at Austin. She has been a DAHU member since 2005 when she entered into the insurance business. Jackie started her insurance career at a small agency in Lewisville in the employee benefits department. She is currently working at Humana as a Small Business Account Advisors. In her space time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She looks forward to becoming active member of DAHU.

Patrick hascoached 30 youth sports teams in soccer, basketball, and baseball, from ages 4 thru 14. Patrick was a board member of the McKinney Baseball Association for 7 years and the Commissioner for 2. Patrick enjoys golf and tennis now that his kids are out of the house!

In 1999, Daniel began his career in the insurance industry working for a privately held financial and estate planning firm in Dallas. It was through this experience that Daniel realized his true calling - to help people. It was then he decided to make a change.
In 2002, he began his new career selling Aflac insurance. Shortly thereafter, he created Ovation Health & Life Services, a full-service employee benefits and insurance firm. Since then, Daniel has advised hundreds of business owners and organizations, and thousands of employees, on all types of insurances and employee benefits. Daniel loves his work, and looks forward to every claim he turns in, every family he helps, and every new client he earns. The motivation has always been the same: help business owners protect their businesses, and help their employees protect their families and livelihoods.
Throughout the past six years, Daniel has won numerous Aflac state, regional and national awards. Daniel has qualified for the National Association of Health Underwriter's Leading Producer Golden Eagle Award, for excellence in the sale of health, life, and disability insurance. Daniel is currently pursuing many other national industry awards.
Also, due to Daniel's active involvement in the southwest Dallas communities, he was chosen to participate in the 2006-2007 Leadership Southwest Program with 40 other community leaders. Daniel currently serves on the boards of many organizations and associations, and is actively involved in numerous chambers of commerce. Daniel is currently serving on the Cedar Hill Chamber Board of Directors, and the Desoto Chamber Healthcare Committee.
Currently, Ovation Health & Life Services has over 25 agents, and is conducting business in thirteen states. Ovation will celebrate its five-year anniversary in July, 2008. Ovation's current clients range from small mom-and-pop businesses, to large corporations boasting 5,000 employees, to the local Teamsters Union with 8,000 members, and national associations - some having over 15,000 members. Ovation does not limit itself to a certain demographic or product line, but rather tries to find the best solutions for every type of entity.
Daniel and his wife reside in north Dallas with their five month old son, Reece, and two dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys running, golf, volleyball, and softball. Daniel considers himself to be well trained and experienced in food and wine, and is a certified sommelier. He loves to entertain in the kitchen or by the grill.

Prior to joining NAF Funding, LLC, Mr. Higman served as a Regional Benefits Vice President, and Regional Vice President for Symetra Financial (formerly known as Safeco Life). While at Safeco, Mr. Higman also served in other various positions in his nearly 22 years of experience. Diane Gonzalez-Vickers holds a General Agent Life and Health license in the State of Texas. She has 17 years of experience as a Small Business Owner. Before she became an independent insurance agent she owned a Small Business and understands from both sides what the employee and an employer faces, what challenges are involved when an employer wants to offer his/her employees' group benefits and also questioning if it's affordable.
She started in the business in 1999, as an insurance Agent working for a local agency in Dallas and within two years started her own agency, Benefit Writers, in May 2001 in Rockwall, TX. Customer service is very important to Diane; she works very hard to go above and beyond what her client's expectations are of her.
She is a member of NAHU and she joined Dallas DAHU in 2002. This is the first time for her to serve on the board of DAHU, and she is committed to excellence while serving as Awards Chairperson.
Diane specializes in Small Groups and Individual, Life, Long Term and DI.
In her spare time she enjoys spends quality time with her family and friends, church, photography, floral designing and volunteering for Non-Profit organizations. She is married to Chuck and they live in Rockwall, TX. They have three daughters and one son and one son-in-law.

Latricia Strutton is a sales executive at Alt Benefit Consultants. She has more then 13 years of experience in the insurance industry from workers' compensation, property & casualty, life & health insurance to employee benefits and worksite marketing.
